Leadership is both a mind-set and a skill-set. Learning to think like a leader and navigate the terrain of complexity and uncertainty is the challenge for leaders today. There are multiple levels encompassing leading one’s self, leading one other, leading an organisation, and leading a community. Learning to lead one’s self is the first task and involves self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and working out your own leadership philosophy and point of view.

In this workshop, we will be drawing on the wisdom and experience from Margaret Wheatley, Dr Selwyn Katene, Dr Chellie Spiller in Wayfinding Leadership, Te Tao de Ching, Inspiring Communities and others, to support our exploration of current leadership awareness and understanding. Finding ways to “deepening discernment about what is really going on and be more response-able to change, subtle shifts and nuances, as well as seeing the whole” (Wayfinding Leadership, 2015).

There will be opportunities for you to participate in assessments which will deepen your awareness of your own leadership style and support and encourage leadership in others around you.
