NZ Spinal Trust Charitable Raceday
A raceday with a special cause
The New Zealand Spinal Trust provides support, information and back to work service for over 3,800 Kiwis who have suffered from a spinal cord injury. Whether it be an injury or illness, spinal cord injuries can happen to anyone at any time, and the NZ Spinal Trust are set on helping these people move forward and live their lives to the fullest.
On Sunday 18th September at Pukekohe Park is the NZ Spinal Trust Charitable Raceday, which will see not only premier horse racing, but the New Zealand Wheel Blacks on course who will compete against our jockeys, including locals Sam Spratt and Alysha Collett, in an exciting wheelchair race (with race handicaps of course!)
The Counties Axemen will also be on show in an in-house wood chopping competition featuring some of New Zealand’s top choppers! Entry is FREE, with gates opening from 11:00am, and the first race heading off at 12:30pm.
The racing is second to none on the day, and features the Listed $50,000 Haunui Farm Karaka Classic race. The New Zealand Spinal Trust will have their very own ‘colours’ going around in each race on the ‘top picks’ for the day.
A fundraising luncheon will also take place in the Oaks Lounge on course, with several sporting memorabilia up for grabs in a live auction including a Richie McCaw-signed All Blacks jersey. If you wish to purchase tickets to this function please contact the below:

Make sure you grab the family and enjoy the free entertainment on course, as well as supporting the New Zealand Spinal Trust. Woodchoppers, wheelchair racing and some fantastic horse racing action at Pukekohe Park!
