Stampede Music Festival
Time: 2pm - 10.30pm
Location: Pukekohe Park, 222-250 Manukau Rd, Pukekohe
Stampede Music Festival is designed to fill a gap in the market. With a number of smaller country festivals around New Zealand experiencing a spike in popularity, it was apparent there was the need for an annual event of an international magnitude.
This event presented the opportunity to secure some of the most celebrated performers from the world’s country music stronghold of Nashville, Tennessee and bring them down-under for the biggest country music festival in Kiwi history.
Stampede selected Coyote Ugly star LeAnn Rimes and American Idol winner Scotty McCreery for the inaugural festival with a focus on finding those strong country roots but also with a modern pop sound. It helps that both artists have a proud and established reputation in the American music industry.
These two acts will headline the show, accompanied by both new and established Australasian acts including Kiwi favourites Brendan Dugan, Gray Bartlett, Jodie Vaughan and Eddie Lowe as the ‘Legends’; along with Vodafone Music Award finalist Tamie Neilson and the ever-popular The Warratahs.
The Pukekohe Park Raceway venue, whilst designed and built as a race track, will transform into the perfect meadow-like setting with space for a large and lively audience in an arena-like facility. Transported specifically from Wellington, a super-sized stage will provide fantastic viewing, while a mega-screen will offer close-up shots of the artists live on stage.
One unique feature of this inaugural event is a designated park-and-stay Trailite Area for motorhomes, caravans and camping. This will present a limited number of guests the opportunity to relax at the venue, knowing it’s just a short walk from the action to their accommodation for the night.
As fans enter the venue through the main gates, they will take a stroll down Buffalo Bill Boulevard where they’ll find a variety of merchandise, entertainment, food vendors, bars, and more from any of the 25+ marquees. You can even grab yourself a cowboy (or cowgirl) hat to fit right in with LeAnn and Scotty.
For anyone looking for that extra special treat, Stampede offers two VIP packages: The Honky Tonk Hamper Package includes VIP Parking, four selected alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages and a large lunch spread with cheese, sandwiches and fruit. All you need to bring is your blanket.
The other VIP package has been dubbed the Wild Horse Saloon Bar Package: guests will receive VIP Parking with on-arrival beverages, an exclusively covered area with seating, unobstructed views of the stage and mega-screen, extensive lunch and dinner menus celebrating Southern cuisine, as well as a once in a lifetime meet-and-greet with both of our international artists.
