Franklin Hospice provides specialist palliative care and support services to residents of Franklin who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. As a life-limiting illness also impacts patients family and friends, Franklin Hospice also provides support to family/whanau. Our community based care is provided by clinical nurse specialists, mainly in the patient’s home – which could be the family home or a residential facility such as a retirement village. We provide a range of additional support including counselling, spiritual support and a range of support groups for patients and their family. We also deliver and install a range of medical equipment and provide transport to medical appointments for our patients if they require it. We work closely with the patients GP and allied health professionals to ensure our patients and their families or care givers have all the necessary resources to cope with the stress and anxiety of a terminal illness. Hospice services are provided for free. Open 8am-5pm Monday to Friday with a 24 hour after hours service.
