On Saturday 22nd July the Pukekohe business community gathered at the PIA Event Centre to celebrate the Pukekohe Business Excellence Awards hosted by the Pukekohe Business Association.

After a three-year hiatus, 79 local businesses attended the black-tie ceremony to celebrate the achievements of Pukekohe businesses in a challenging and competitive environment.

The event recognised and celebrated the outstanding success, hard work, innovation and resilience of the winners and finalists, inspiring other attendees to strive for excellence in their own businesses.

Pukekohe Business Association President, Rupert Ross said, “The interest in and calibre of this year’s awards blew our expectations out of the water. It seems a celebration of local business success was long overdue”.

The high standard of entries and number of public votes for people’s choice demonstrates the competitive business environment and quality of Pukekohe’s local businesses.

The winners were selected by an independent judges panel including some of the regions’ prominent business and community leaders, Angela Fulljames (Franklin Local Board Chairperson), Audrey Williams (Manukau Business Association General Manager), Lara Hellier (People Passion Director), James Smith (Founder of Xennial), Gennelle Palmer (Counties Energy Environmental & Sustainability Manager), Mike Marr (Chairman of Innovation Franklin) and Eddie Bignell (New Zealand Steel).
